The health and safety of the Penguin family is our highest priority. We are watching closely as the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve and we’re taking every measure to manage and mitigate the virus. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our clients, and our on-site teams. We have been in regular communication with all of our teams across our network around the following protocols that support everyone’s health and well-being. In addition, we are rolling out programs to help our clients with finishing their own basement, and generating extra income. Read below for more.
In-Home Policy
- No more than 9 people will be on-site at any given time.
- No contact required – All signoffs and substantial completions will be done digitally to avoid face to face contact. Historically, we have completed 30% of our build communication digitally and we ensure quality work even when the client isn’t physically at home to review.
- We will be cleaning the site prior to substantial completion with only the Project Manager on site to review the work. Furthermore, the cleaning and disinfection mentioned below will be complete prior to the review to ensure.
- A 6mm Polyethylene vapour barrier will help contain the basement from the entry of the stairs down. If our clients request a containment measure from the entrance of the home, into the basement, we would be happy to oblige.
SALES POLICY
Our sales team is happy to offer our clients a virtual design & quote opportunity, especially for those who would like to plan for a build but aren’t prepared to have us begin. Our sales team is trained in building codes, design and estimation and in many cases they can provide you with a very real estimate on the spot, with no hidden fees or surprises to come later.
SELECTIONS POLICY
Clients may elect to do their design selections virtually as well. With a screen share and a video walk through, clients can sign virtually as well if they choose. We recognize that these are unsettling times and whether you are building with us now or in the future, we want you to know that your safety and well-being are our first priority.
FIY BASEMENTS
Suddenly find yourself trapped at home with the family with too much time, and too little space? Put that time to good use, by finishing your basement yourself. But don’t worry, we won’t leave you alone. We’re here to help, with advice, design, permit drawings, and more. We’ll even board and frame the space and prep the walls for paint. If you want, we’ll even lay the floors, leaving you to save a bundle buy finishing the painting, and detail work yourself. OUR STAFF
We haven’t forgotten how to look after those closest to us, our amazing employees both in the field and in administration. All Penguin office personnel have been set up with laptops and iPads as needed to ensure they can work safely from home. We have moved in-office selections online, and our build crews travel in small groups, and are wearing protective gear at all times. Together, we will all get through this pandemic together.
